Riley Reiff and Markus Zusevics NFL Combine updates

Iowa offensive tackles, Riley Reiff and Markus Zusevics have been taking part in the NFL Combine this weekend and are trying to do all they can to impress  the scouts.

Markus Zusevics faced some bad luck when it was reported that he tore his left pectoral while doing the bench press on Friday. Zusevics will not take part in anymore events at the combine and will need surgery to repair his injury. Nothing has been said about how this will affect his draft stock but it certainly won’t help.

Riley Reiff is drawing a lot attention at the combine because he is projected to be a top 10 pick.  Like Bryan Bulaga and Karl Klug, Riley Reiff has joined the list of former Hawkeyes whose arms are apparently too short for the NFL scout’s liking. This seems to be something that has very little merit because both Bulaga and Klug have been successful in the NFL with short arms.

According to Evan Silva, of NBC Sports, Reiff has run two unofficial forty times of 5.16 and 5.18. Also, Zac Boyer, who is a freelance writer, is reporting that Riley Reiff bench pressed 225 pounds a total of 23 times.

When it comes to the football drills part of the combine, Reiff seems to be doing very well which comes as no surprise because he did play at Iowa. This is what Dion Caputi of the National Football Post tweeted out about Riley Reiff.

This is only the beginning as more Hawkeyes will be participating in the combine and they have a great opportunity to use this event as a platform to improve their draft stock.
